new adidas football boots A local native is becoming a youth basketball star on the West Coast
Jose Gonzalez III “JG3”, has quickly made a name for himself on the West Coast. While playing travel basketball for Ventura County(VC) Swoosh this past fall, the 13 year old Newport News native, averaged a whopping 26pts/18rebs for the 13U team and 16pts/7rebs for the 14U team. At one event, he played two games within a hour apart, and he totaled an astonishing 59pts and 34rebs. After having a stellar fall season, he has now moved on to another program, the Earl Watson Elite. The Los Angeles based program, is a powerhouse on the AAU circuit and is currently sponsored by Under Armour. Jose will be playing on the 13U EarlWatsonElite2020 Silver team. He has a bunch of camp invites under his belt at the moment. Last month,
he attended the West Coast Elite All Star Camp in Chatsworth, CA in which he had a solid performance. He will be attending the Elite32 camp in Anaheim, CA on November 28 29. The Elite 32 camp will showcase many of the top middle school players from all over the Western States and select the top 32 players from grades 5 8. In 2015, JG3 will be attending the Pangos JR All American Camp in Long Beach, CA( February) and the BallisLife JR All American Camp in the Summer in Anaheim, CA. He had to turn down an Adidas Jr Phenom Camp invite, due to conflicting dates with the BallisLife JrAAcamp. He is currently ranked the 1 7th grader attending the Elite 32 camp.
In 2013, Jose won a Newport News Warwick Rec Intermediate League Championship with the undefeated Warriors. He attended Passage Middle School for 6th grade and helped the Panthers win their first boys NNPS basketball championship. His dad is a Newport News native and a Navy Sailor. He relocated the family from Newport News to Ventura County, CA due to new military orders.
